50th Reunion, 2017
What a fantastic weekend and celebration of our 50th MHS Reunion!! Here's what we did:
The Friday Tour of the high school had about 50 of you attending, with so many memories seeing the old classrooms, new library (donated by Joe Walsh who attended MHS), the auditorium and Amphitheater. Thanks to the high school for the great tour.
Friday night at Tierney's was wonderful - over 100 people came from 7pm to 9pm and reconnected in an informal get-together. Several people commented that it was a good ice breaker and helped us have time to chat (very loudly with all the noise) with people we might not see later. The Saturday luncheon at the Fuzzy Furlong Fieldhouse was a huge success. About 70 people came, and the food, provided via Donna Wingfield Feggin's son's catering business, was delicious! It was a beautiful fall day, perfect for a football game. We had reserved seats (although it was a challenge climbing the bleachers) and watching MHS's undefeated team win over Seton Hall Prep brought back so many memories of our State Champs and the games 50 years ago. Our class football players were invited out on to the field at half time, with cheers from the crowd. We are still proud of our guys!!!
Saturday night was a memorable night with over 175 attending. Held at the Montclair Art Museum, the first hour was a champagne cocktail gathering in the foyer. Many of us went into the exhibit halls to see the fine art on display, including the George Inness paintings of Montclair many many years ago. Downstairs we had great food and good music from the DJ, and plenty of time to visit and dance. Thanks to our Reunion Committee for pulling it all together.
